PURPOSE JEWELRY CARE GUIDE

Note:

Polishing your gold or silver plated jewelry will remove the plating from the piece. Only use a polishing cloth for your pieces that are 100% brass and are not plated.

PLATED JEWELRY

Plated jewelry is coated in a thin layer of precious metal and is visually identical to a piece made of a precious metal, the plating is temporary but lasts longer with proper care.

  • Apply perfume, hairspray or deodorant and let dry before putting on your jewelry as certain chemicals may damage the finish.
  • Always remove your jewelry before swimming, bathing, exercising, doing household chores or using abrasive cleaners.
  • Avoid getting plated jewelry wet, but if it does require cleaning, wash carefully in warm, soapy water. Rinse clean and pat dry with a soft cloth.
  • Make sure your jewelry is completely dry before storing.

BRASS JEWELRY

  • To remove tarnish, use a special polishing cloth or apply a paste of baking soda and lemon with a soft brush and rinse clean, then pat dry.
